The Adelaide Giants are heading to the ABL Championship Series to battle for the Claxton Shield once again, looking to go back-to-back in a rematch against the Perth Heat.
Here’s everything you need to know about the playoffs, tickets, and the gameday experience.
HOW THE PLAYOFFS WORK
- Top 4 ABL clubs qualify;
- 1 vs 4 and 2 vs 3 in a best-of-three preliminary final, winner advances to championship series;
- The first placed team at the end of the regular season hosts the fourth placed team in a best-of-three series at the first placed team’s venue.
- The second placed team at the end of the regular season hosts the third placed team in a best-of-three series at the second placed team’s venue.
- In the Championship Series, the higher ranked team hosts Game 2 + 3, while the lower ranked team hosts Game 1
The Giants defeated the Melbourne Aces in a three game series last weekend and will now play the Perth Heat in the Championship Series
When will they be?
– Game 1 – Friday 2 February @ Empire Ballpark, Perth
– Game 2 – Saturday 3 February, 7:00PM @ Dicolor Australia Stadium, Adelaide
– Game 3 (if necessary, refunded if not) – Sunday 4 February, 6:00PM, @ Dicolor Australia Stadium, Adelaide
Where will they be?
The Adelaide Giants play at Dicolor Australia Stadium, Barratt Reserve, W West Beach Road, West Beach.
If you drive down W West Beach Road, the turn for the stadium carpark is on south side of the road, we have a sign signalling the entrance.
Speaking of parking…
Where can I park?
Dicolor Australia Stadium has a dedicated carpark that is completely free to park in off W West Beach Road.
You can’t miss it, you have to drive/walk through it to get to the stadium.
When the carpark is full, there is street parking in the surrounding area.
What time will the gates open?
Gates will open one hour before each game.
6PM gates for a 7PM game
5PM gates for a 6PM game etc.
What’s the deal with tickets?
All tickets and full details are available here.
Both the first-base grandstand and main grandstand are fully reserved seating for the entire playoffs, meaning you will have to reserve your specific seats when buying tickets.
Unreserved GA tickets are also available to sit on our famous home-run hill and in our various standing areas around the ballpark.
Please note that U16 Junior Baseball Memberships are not valid for the playoffs.
We thank Australian Fire Services for their extreme generosity in getting our junior players to the baseball all season.
Playoff tickets will have to be purchased for all previously using this membership.
